It’s an exciting time in Bowling Green as Western Kentucky University (WKU) gears up to celebrate the academic achievements of its students. The university has just released the honors lists for the Fall 2024 semester, and let’s just say that many local scholars are shining brighter than ever!
At WKU, students have the chance to showcase their academic prowess, and the Dean’s List and President’s List are two prestigious achievements that honor their hard work and dedication. Those who earn a place on the Dean’s List have managed to achieve an impressive semester GPA ranging from 3.4 to 3.79. Meanwhile, the elite individuals who score a GPA between 3.8 and 4.0 are celebrated on the President’s List, which is a fantastic accomplishment!
Let’s take a moment to recognize the amazing students from Smiths Grove who have made it onto the President’s List. A total of over 20 students have earned this distinction, showcasing the incredible talent and hard work coming out of this community. Here are just a few of the exceptional young people earning their place among the best:
What a list of accomplished individuals! It’s safe to say that students in Smiths Grove are setting the bar high, and the community could not be prouder.
But Smiths Grove isn’t the only community showing off its brilliant students this semester. The Barren County students also have quite a few standouts on the President’s List. With names like Hadley Mae Adams, Kateland Mae Adams, and Matthew Conley Clark, this group is making waves in the academic world!
These students are truly inspiring their peers and setting examples for what hard work and determination can accomplish. Bravo to all!
In other news around Bowling Green, recent events have cast a somber tone over the community. Mayor Todd Alcott expressed his condolences for the loss of Patsy T. Sloan, a trailblazer in local politics, who sadly passed away. She was a truly impactful figure in this community, and her contributions will be dearly missed.
Additionally, Bowling Green Municipal Utilities has reported a hiccup in the water supply due to a sinkhole near 1713 Singletree Way, causing outages for many customers. The city is actively working to fix the issue, and locals are encouraged to stay informed about updates.
As a final note of remembrance, community member Danny Carothers, known for his dedication to working with children, recently passed away. He was beloved by many and made a significant impact in the lives of those around him.
As we celebrate the achievements of our local students, let’s also take a moment to remember and honor those who have left lasting legacies in Bowling Green.
What a blend of triumph and remembrance this week brings! Here’s to the bright futures of our students and the lasting impact of our cherished community members!
