WKU Alumni Association to Host ‘Night at the Preds’
A Unique Networking Event Set for February 29
Bowling Green, KY – The Western Kentucky University (WKU) Alumni Association has announced its plan to host their popular event, “Night at the Preds,” at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, February 29th. The excitement-filled evening will feature a live professional ice hockey game between the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild.
A Tradition Spanning Over a Year
This special occasion, which kick-started in 2023, serves as an excellent networking ambiance for university alumni and students while simultaneously introducing WKU to Nashvillians. The contributing collaboration comes from both the Alumni Association and the Nashville Predators, giving fans and alumni a memorable experience.
Pre-Game Reception at Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame
The event commences with a pre-game gathering from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. Alumni and students alike are welcome to nibble on snacks and communicate until the game’s kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
A notable aspect of the event is the participation and recognition of attendees inside the arena during the game. In addition, WKU’s beloved mascot, Big Red, will be present to support the Nashville Predators, ensuring the spirit of camaraderie is high throughout the stadium.
Closer Ties with Tennessee Sports
Laura Smith, the associate director of philanthropy and alumni engagement, revealed insights into the bond between WKU and the Nashville Predators. According to her, "Nashville is a significant recruitment market. Exposure to the Predators’ fans, who may not be aware of our school, provides us the opportunity to showcase our community and become a consideration for potential students. It serves to bring together people from south-central Kentucky and middle Tennessee."
How to Join the Excitement
Alumni interested in the event can register with starting prices at $91.35. The package includes the game ticket, a limited edition co-branded Preds hat, and access to the pre-game reception.
