Bowling Green, KY: This summer, the city of Bowling Green will witness an exciting addition to its sports scene. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department has announced plans to launch its Westside Developmental Baseball division. Aimed at children aged 9-14 years old, the recreational activity will take place at the bustling Pedigo Park located on Normalview Drive.
This developmental baseball program has been divided into two categories – Division 1 catering to ages 9-11 and Division 2 focused on ages 12-14. The program aims to emphasise leadership, teamwork, and life skills in youngsters. It utilizes baseball as a tool to build these aspects, emphasizing that it’s a great place to play, irrespective of an individual’s skill set.
In addition, the program is spearheaded by mentors and coaches who have volunteered to inspire, guide and shape the younger generation. This mentorship is expected to play a crucial role in fostering talent and nurturing the principles of earnestness, perseverance, and sportsmanship among the participants.
The schedule for this eagerly anticipated program has been outlined, set to roll out every Friday starting on May 24th. It will proceed on May 31st, June 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th; July 12th, 19th, and 26th, and finally wrap up on August 2nd and 9th. Registrations for the program are currently open and can either be done on-site or online via the official BGPR website.
