WCHS Student Wins Prestigious $180K NROTC Scholarship
In an exciting turn of events in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Warren Central High School (WCHS) student Caiden Thompson has been awarded an esteemed scholarship valued at $180,000. The Frederick C. Branch scholarship, linked to the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC), is recognized for its rigorous academic and physical requirements, in addition to necessitating a moral proficient character.
“A One-Way Ticket to Achieving my Childhood Dreams”
Thrilled about his achievement, Thompson was quoted saying, “It’s a one-way ticket to accomplish all of the dreams I’ve had since I was a kid.” The scholarship demands scores of no less than a 74 on the ASVAB or a 22 on the ACT, participation in extracurricular activities at school, and the successful completion of a physical exam involving a three-mile run, planking, and a max set of pull-ups.
