WBKO Cares, a Bowling Green-based initiative, has collaborated with the Boys and Girls Club for this year’s United Way Day of Caring event. This generous partnership will host a Supply and Snack Drive on Thursday, July 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. As part of their outreach, WBKO Cares will support the Boys and Girls Club in gathering much-needed resources for their members.
The club is in need of various supplies and snacks for their participating youth. For supplies, they require liquid glue, crayons, markers, card stock, construction paper, printer paper, dry erase markers, sharpies, and highlighters. In terms of snacks, donations of Pop-tarts, yogurt, chips, fruit cups, honey buns, granola bars, goldfish crackers, cookies, popcorn, and anything else that is individually wrapped are accepted. The club is also welcoming cash donations for those wishing to contribute in that manner.
With the monetary support received from the United Way of Southern Kentucky, the Boys and Girls Club will be able to hire a full-time coordinator for their CareerLaunch program. CareerLaunch is one of their key initiatives, aiming to aid young people in approaching their future career paths with confidence and competence. Providing the resources to engage a dedicated coordinator signals a significant step forward in the program’s development.
The United Way Day of Caring is a concentrated effort to mobilize volunteers and resources in the service of local communities. This event provides an opportunity for businesses, individuals, and community groups to assist charitable organizations in achieving their goals. The day serves as a catalyst for ongoing community engagement and lasting partnerships.
If you are interested in contributing to the WBKO Cares Supply and Snack Drive for the Boys and Girls Club, drop-off locations will be Setup on July 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. For further details on the Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green or the United Way Day of Caring, please consult their respective websites.

Transforming mere intentions into tangible actions, the collaboration caters directly to the needs of the local community.
