Bowling Green Welcomes New Educational Leader

Bowling Green, KY – It was revealed on Tuesday afternoon that Josh Porter has been appointed as the new Principal of Warren Elementary School by Warren County Public Schools. Recognized for his vast leadership experience and affection for the Warren Elementary school community, Porter’s portfolio prepares him well for this pivotal role.

New Leadership, Fresh Perspective

“Mr. Porter’s leadership experience as a building level leader,” stated Rob Clayton, Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools, “combined with his love for the Warren Elementary school community, gives me great confidence in Mr. Porter’s ability to successfully transition our students and staff into a brand-new facility in the fall of 2025.” He went on to express his anticipation for the continued growth of the students under Porter’s expert leadership.

Climbing the Ranks

According to recent reports, Porter was formerly the assistant principal at Bowling Green High School, where he was in charge of students in grades 11 and 12 as well as overseeing matters of schoolwide safety and facilities. Prior to his time at Bowling Green High School, Porter has served the educational community of Warren Elementary for 12 years, spending nine of those years as the Lead Principal.

Before stepping into administration, Porter was a business teacher at Warren Central High School. Reflecting on his career path, Porter stated, “I love the experiences that I had there. Some of the best times of my career.”

Looking Ahead

With the new appointment set in place, Porter expressed his eagerness to return to his roots in elementary education. “When this opened up, I was at a place in my life where we’re being empty nesters and different things, and I said, ‘You know this is what I want to do: I want to go back and make a difference.’ I love the community of Warren Elementary, I love the kids and the staff members, so I wanted the chance to go back.”

Porter’s tenure as Principal of Warren Elementary School will begin on July 1. His past experience and enthusiasm for educational leadership are marked as valuable assets for the growth of the community and student body of Warren Elementary.
