In Warren County, Kentucky, the local government recently released an update on current storm debris cleanup efforts. Following a period of severe weather in the region, sustained cleanup operations are underway to ensure the safety and normalcy of daily routines in the region.
The Warren County Road Department is presently working diligently to remove trees and limbs obstructing local roadways. It is a primary concern that such obstacles could pose safety hazards to residents and disrupt normal traffic flow. As such, efforts are being directed primarily at removing these obstructions.
As noted in the government release, property owners bear the responsibility for the removal of debris on private property. In cases where private contractors were hired to cut down trees and limbs, it is their responsibility to transport the debris offsite. The guidance particularly highlights the importance of ensuring that hired contractors are adequately insured.
For residential debris, property owners are responsible for cuttings, with sanitation companies typically picking up the vegetation. However, guidelines stipulate that the brush and limbs must be neatly stacked by the garbage cart, measuring no longer than 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter. Residents are required to directly contact their waste removal service providers to schedule pickups and verify the size requirements of the debris.
As an additional option for managing storm-related debris, residents may choose to haul their brush and limbs to Simply Mulch, located at Veterans Memorial Lane, from Monday through Saturday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. A small fee applies for this service. For detailed information on pricing or other queries, residents may directly contact the facility at their helpline.
For further questions or clarifications regarding storm debris disposal, residents are encouraged to contact the Warren County Solid Waste Coordinator or the local Road Department.
The speed and efficiency of current cleanup operations are of utmost importance to restore the community’s daily operations fully. While the efforts of government departments are ongoing, an essential part of the process is adherence to the guidelines by residents and understanding the importance of managing and disposing of storm debris properly.
As the community works together in these cleanup efforts, the overall goal is to enhance safety, cleanliness, and restoration of the county back to its pre-storm conditions. This process is vital not only for the physical appearance of the county but also as a necessary step for community recovery and moving forward from the recent severe weather conditions.
