As it approaches its second anniversary, the Victory Hill Dream Center in Scottsville is taking significant steps towards expanding its services. The center is expanding its emergency shelter program by setting up a new facility, thereby increasing its capacity to aid underserved community members.
The Dream Center’s origin lies with the Victory Hill Church, and it strives to serve community members in need – those experiencing homelessness, recovering from addiction, or dealing with incarceration. These individuals often slip through the societal cracks, making them all the more deserving of aid and support.
A Destined Origin
“We, along with healthcare professionals, drug court specialists, and individuals from different walks of life, came together and meticulously studied our community’s needs. It was this collective effort that led to the building of programs that could efficiently serve our society,” said Amy Payne, director of the Victory Hill Dream Center.
Programs and Success Stories
Programs at the center range from support groups aiding those recovering from addiction and dealing with incarceration, to initiatives like ‘Cakes for Your Kids’.
