Victory Hill Church in Scottsville, KY, Hosts Second Annual Project Prom

February 21, 2024 – Scottsville, KY – Prom night is a significant milestone for many teenagers. However, this memorable event often comes with considerable financial strains for students and their families. This year, one local church, Victory Hill Church, is shouldering some of this burden by organizing Project Prom for the second consecutive year. The initiative is more grandiose than ever, poised to assist every student in need with prom dresses, tuxedo accessories, and a professional makeup artist.

Meeting the Community’s Needs

Beth Page, Community Pastor at Victory Hill Church, discussed what inspired the church to initiate this project. “I recognized that there was a pressing need in our community for such a project, a need that Victory Hill could adequately meet. So, we began from there,” Page said. “However, as we delved deeper into research, we realized that we wanted these girls to walk away feeling not just glamorous but also loved and seen.”

Donations are Still Open

The call for donations remains open. Victory Hill Church is accepting prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and tuxedos. If you’re interested in contributing to this worthy cause, you can reach them by sending a text to 270-355-7171 with the message “PROM” in all capital letters. By donating, you can help many students experience a memorable prom night without the stress of financial burden.

Project Prom: More Than a Charity Event

Project Prom is more than just a charity initiative. It is a community project that brings together individuals willing to help, as well as those in need. The kind gestures and generosity displayed at this event symbolize Victory Hill Church’s commitment to fostering a spirit of love, strength, and unity within the community. The project not only provides material needs but also gives every student the opportunity to feel cherished and esteemed on their special evening.

Helping Students Enjoy a Special Occasion

Prom night holds a distinctive place in the hearts of many students. And, Victory Hill Church, through Project Prom, ensures that every student experiences this unforgettable occasion with joy and without financial worry. Taking care of the dresses, the tuxedos, and even the makeup signifies an act of love and community that extends beyond the boundaries of a simple clothes drive.

A Warm Call to the Community

Your donations could make a significant difference, and there is still time to contribute toward this wonderful cause. If you have a prom dress or a tuxedo you no longer need, you can text PROM to the aforementioned number and donate to Project Prom. In doing so, you reinforce the spirit of unity in our community and ensure that no student misses their prom night due to financial constraints.
