Troopers Searching for Suspects after High-Speed Chase Reaching 130 mph

The Pursuit Begins

On a routine Friday evening in Bowling Green, Kentucky, State Troopers found themselves in a high-speed chase reaching speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. The pursuit originated from a traffic safety checkpoint in nearby Hart County shortly after 10 p.m.

The officers noticed a 2015 Mercedes GL3 failing to follow traffic regulations. The driver was later identified as a 28-year-old resident Anthony Manning from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, accompanied by an unknown passenger.

The troopers report that rather than comply with the officers, Manning fled from the checkpoint, leading authorities on a daring chase via U.S. 31-E and Kentucky 70, and finally onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 65.

The Chase Ensues

During the pursuit, troopers allege that Manning’s vehicle reached terrifying speeds of 130 mph, even turning off his lights in an apparent attempt to evade police detection.

The suspect continued his flight southbound on I-65 before surprisingly being seen heading northbound on the same interstate. At this point, troopers say visual contact was lost, leading to the termination of the vehicular pursuit.

Twists and Turns

The odyssey resumed later that night when a call came in from Butler County dispatch. Deputies from the local Sheriff’s Department had spotted the same vehicle, this time parked at a gas station in Morgantown, Kentucky. According to the troopers, Manning and his unidentified passenger had fled the scene on foot.

The situation took a dramatic turn when the unknown passenger allegedly brandished a firearm. In response, a Butler County deputy discharged his weapon, but then lost sight of the subjects. Fortunately, there were no injuries among the Butler County deputies.

Investigation is Ongoing

The troopers believe the suspects, Manning and his unidentified companion, were not injured during the encounter. As of now, they remain at large.

Manning, currently wanted under an active warrant related to this incident, is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation by state troopers is still underway as they continue to search for Manning and his unidentified passenger. The local community has been strongly advised to remain vigilant and to report any knowledge that could aid in their capture.
