Bowling Green Public Transport Sees Boost in Use
In Bowling Green, KY, there has been a significant rise in the city’s public transportation usage, all thanks to the rebranding initiatives of GOBG Transit. The company associates this surge to their fresh rebranding strategy, aiming to make the busses more identifiable and appealing to the local community.
General Manager for GOBG Transit, Tim McWhorter, provided some valuable insights into this increase. According to him, the revamped bus was first unveiled at the 2023 Harvest Festival in October and since the rebranding, GOBG has experienced an increase in ridership by around 7 to 8 percent.
“We’re really just trying to rebrand GOBG Transit to make people more aware,” McWhorter said. “To be more easily identifiable to the community so we’re not mistaken for other vehicles such as church buses or any other community buses.”
The Rebranding Initiative
The rebranding involved a green wrap adorning the buses, depicting various significant sights within the city. With three buses already showcasing the new branding, McWhorter expects the rest of the fleet to be completed within the next two to three months.
Through this step, GOBG Transit hopes for a continued increase in ridership. “We have a large population of individuals moving into the area that may not have access to a vehicle,” McWhorter said. “Public transit is vital to help get those individuals to retail centers, dining centers, medical appointments, or just wherever they need to go in the city limits of Bowling Green.”
Service Availability
As indicated on the GOBG Transit’s website, the service presently operates five routes covering the Bowling Green area every Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. For further information on available routes and bus times, individuals can visit the GOBG Transit website.
