Bowling Green, KY, it’s been a tricky day for motorists on Louisville Road. If you were heading down that road, you might have come across an unexpected roadblock. No worries as no one was hurt, but an unfortunate incident of a vehicle overturning has caused a bit of a stir in traffic.
The folks from the Richardsville Fire Department were punctual on the scene, given the rather worrisome sight of an overturned vehicle. The accident was severe enough to have closed down one of the northbound lanes of Louisville Road near Moorman Lane.
Now, you might be asking, “Why should I be bothered about one lane?“. Fair enough, but here is the kicker – as the recovery efforts kick in, both northbound lanes might have to be temporarily shut down. Now that’s bound to ruffle some feathers!
Moving forward, it might be a good idea to tread lightly if you are in the area. Use caution and maybe a good GPS to guide you around this road trouble. Because who needs an added morning bottle-neck on the way to work, right?
As this full-blown Cavaliers production unfolds, remember to be mindful of how your drive might affect others on the road. Traffic can be a nuisance, but a dash of patience can go a long way. Especially when it’s our friends and neighbors from the fire, police, and all the brave service people trying to swiftly correct the situation.
On a side note, don’t be too worried about the detained vehicle. No one was harmed in the accident, which is the good news we all need right about now. Be patient, be cautious, and let’s all exercise a bit more kindness on the road.
Other areas in town had their share of road troubles. Temporary lane closures were happening on Morgantown Road because of a sidewalk construction project. Not to mention, a bridge replacement project was set to start next week in Daviess County. Plus, a portion of Smallhouse Road was due to be closed temporarily this week itself. We don’t expect you to memorize this, but make a note and plan your travels accordingly.
Remember, a delay might shove your routine, but think of it as our city staying on top of necessary maintenance and improvements to ensure smoother roads for all us Bowling Green folks. So, next time you hit a roadblock or a detour, don’t forget to shine a smile and wave a ‘thank you’ to the ones in the bright vests.
