Investigation Begins

According to reports, deputies were dispatched to the area after receiving the theft complaint. Upon arrival, they collected details regarding the stolen vehicle and began canvassing the neighborhood for any clues or signs of the truck.

Stolen Vehicle Discovered

During their search, officers located the stolen GMC parked unoccupied at a nearby trailer park located at 9279 Russellville Road. This finding provided a crucial lead in the case as deputies worked to piece together what had happened.

Suspicious Jeep Grand Cherokee

While investigating the scene, something unusual happened. A Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled up, and upon seeing the deputies, the driver quickly reversed the vehicle and attempted to flee the area. This action drew the attention of the officers on the scene.

Foot Pursuit Ensues

As deputies pursued the Jeep on foot, two individuals exited the vehicle and made a run for it. The deputies managed to apprehend one of the suspects, a 44-year-old man named David Cherry from Bowling Green, after a brief chase. The second suspect, however, managed to escape and has yet to be identified or caught.

Items Recovered

While searching the Jeep, deputies discovered several items that were taken from the stolen GMC truck. Among the stolen goods was a shotgun, which remains missing at this time. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation to recover the firearm and gather more evidence.

Charges Filed

Following his arrest, Cherry was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail. He faces serious charges, including receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more, second-degree fleeing or evading police, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held on a $6,000 cash bond.
