WCPL Organizes “Staycation” Spring Break Events for Families in Bowling Green

Bowling Green, KY — As schools across Warren County are on a hiatus for Spring Break, activities for families have taken a unique turn. The Warren County Public Library (WCPL) has stepped up to keep the local community engaged throughout week-long festivities, organizing a series of “Staycation” events in different locations.

An Array of Exciting Events

WCPL has gone a step further, announcing there will be a new theme for every event, each day. According to the library’s Youth and Family Programming Coordinator, Dulce Sanchez-Tunks, it is of immense importance to provide these activities, especially during the spring times. She emphasizes that many parents may not get the opportunity to travel during these times, hence the introduction of such a program.

A lot of our staff that was the focus on why we wanted to create something like this is that we didn’t get that opportunity,” said Sanchez-Tunks. In addition, the varied timings of the events are designed to cater to families with differing work schedules, making the “Staycation” a truly inclusive celebration.

The Themed “Staycation” Adventure Continues

The events initiated by WCPL will continue to captivate communities until Friday. Each of these events are unique and cater to various interests. The full event calendar, along with essential details, is accessible for all interested parties on the Warren County Public Library’s official website. This acts as a useful guide for families planning to join in on the “Staycation” fun.

A Community-Oriented Approach

WCPL’s recent initiative translates its commitment to the growth and welfare of the Bowling Green community, particularly during times when many opt to stay closer to home. Despite the Spring Break bringing about a brief pause in official schooling, organizations like WCPL ensure that the learning never stops for anyone. Not only does it present an alternative break activity for local families, but also encourages them to come together, fostering an increased sense of community.

Each event, meticulously designed, aims to provide one-of-a-kind experiences catering to various age groups and interests. All of this, while operating within the public health guidelines to ensure safety for all, emphasizes WCPL’s mission.

As the week progresses, Bowling Green residents continue to look forward to the library’s “Staycation” events, ensuring a vibrant and fun-filled Spring Break right in their hometown.
