The Student Government Association recently declared the election results of the spring semester of 2024. The event was held in the Senate Chamber and announced through their Instagram account at midnight on Wednesday, April 17. The election featured over 60 students on the ballot for various positions for the 24th Senate session.
The following students are the adventurous individuals who have been bestowed the responsibility to represent the student body in the 24th Senate in their respective positions:
Additionally, representatives for individual colleges and sectors were also elected, including the Gordon Ford College of Business Senate, the Intercultural Student Engagement Center Senate, and the First Generation Senate, among others.
At the helm of the organization are the newly elected Student Body President, Executive Vice President, and Administrative Vice President, Sam Kurtz, Donté Reed, and Ethan Taylor, respectively. This dynamic trio expressed their enthusiasm for the coming term and their aspirations to adhere to the core values of serving the student body.
“I’ve done everything in my power, I’ve said it 100 times, to be for the students,” said Jaden Marshall, who was elected as an Intercultural Student Engagement Center Senator. His election was greeted with the cheer of students, reflecting the campus’s shared joy and support.
Speaking about the incoming Senate, Student Body President Kurtz said, “SGA has a great opportunity to be great next year. I just hope we can stay true to our core values, to just helping the students and being for the students.” His statement reflects the importance of remaining student-centric in all policy endeavors.
The announcement serves as an excellent opportunity for these elected leaders to make their mark on the campus’s administrative operations and represent student interests effectively.
