South Warren Dominates Christian County in Holiday Hoops Classic

Hopkinsville, KY – In an exhilarating basketball showdown Saturday afternoon at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Holiday Hoops Classic, the South Warren Spartans soared to an emphatic 92-65 victory over the Christian County Colonels. The Spartans jumped out of the gate with a stunning 17-1 lead, setting the tone for a game that had fans on the edge of their seats from the very first whistle.

A Game Filled with High Spirits and High Scores

From the start, it was clear that South Warren meant business. They quickly took command with a blistering first quarter, finishing it at 25-7. Their relentless drive propelled them to a commanding halftime lead of 53-27. As the game progressed, South Warren’s offense continued to shine, even reaching a jaw-dropping 32-point lead in the third quarter. The Spartans played with confidence and excitement, much to the delight of their supporters.

Missing Players Impact Game for the Colonels

For Christian County, it was a challenging day on the court. The team played without key starters Zion Acree and Kam Williams, along with vital substitutes Tom Johnson and James Farley. This absence clearly affected their performance, as they struggled to keep pace with the spirited Spartans. Despite the uphill battle, the Colonels showed flashes of brilliance, led by sophomore center Rahsean Stevenson, who put up an impressive 23 points.

Other scoring highlights for the Colonels included senior Na’Darien Rowe, who notched 11 points, all of which came in the second half. Zyon Wharton also contributed 10 points as Christian County fell to 0-6 this season. The defeat highlights the challenges they face as they strive to break through in upcoming games.

A Balanced Attack from the Spartans

In contrast, the Spartans showcased a balanced scoring attack, making it difficult for Christian County to focus on a particular player. Camden Page led the charge with 14 points, while Griffen Rardin and Jace Jarvis added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Other contributors included Hall with 12, Shively with 8, and Button adding 9 points of his own. This kind of teamwork is exactly what makes South Warren a force to be reckoned with.

The Spartans’ efficiency was also on display beyond the arc. They scored a total of 11 three-pointers during the game, with Rardin knocking down three himself, along with Hall, Jarvis, Page, McIntyre, and Perkins all contributing to the long-range scoring effort.

What’s Next for Christian County?

Looking forward, Christian County will return to the hardwood on Tuesday as part of a girls’/boys’ doubleheader at Bowling Green. Fans will be able to catch all the action during the F&M Bank Pregame Show, airing at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm. The Colonels are eager to regroup and bounce back from this tough loss, with hopes of finally securing their first victory of the season.
