ROCKFIELD, KY – Law enforcement were dispatched to a school bus accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Warren County, on the 2300 block of Petros Browning Road. While there were minimal injuries reported, the aftermath of the accident led to closure of the road, urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
The accident took place shortly after 4 p.m with Warren County Sheriff’s Office taking quick action in response. Shortly after the incident, it was confirmed that units were already making their way to the scene, with at least one unit reported on location. In order to ensure safety for the ongoing investigation, and for the safety of road users, the section of the road where the accident took place was closed off temporarily.
Warren County Public School District, after the incident, promptly communicated that students involved in the accident have been safely reunited with their families. According to them, the accident resulted in only minor injuries. In the interest of the well-being of the students, on-site medical staff were immediately deployed, and they confirmed that there was no need for any person involved in the incident to be transported to the hospital. Furthermore, it was added that medical staff rendered necessary care at the scene of the incident.
Following the accident, officials recommended drivers to consider alternate routes. The closure of the section of Petros Browning Road was necessary for the immediate safety measures and to facilitate the ongoing investigations. While it caused inconvience for regular commutators of this road, their understanding in this critical situation was appreciated.
An in-depth investigation to uncover the details and cause of the accident is currently underway. However, initial findings suggest that this was a random incident – an unfortunate event that could not have been predicted or prevented. More details about the accident will be shared publicly once the investigation has reached its conclusion, in order to offer clarity to those affected and the public.
This incident serves as a reminder to all road users to prioritize safety at all times, for the unexpected can happen at any time.
