Traffic Impact Report Released: Road Works in Kentucky Through to August 30

Good people of Bowling Green, brace yourselves for possible traffic impacts within our lovely Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet District 3 area. There are some road works planned from August 23 through to August 30. As with anything, these works could be subject to change, but here’s the latest download.

The major project happening currently is the resurfacing and rehabilitation of Interstate 165 down in Butler County. The crews aren’t slacking and are milling and resurfacing the roadway in both directions, covering mile point 26.4 through to mile point 32.8. If you’re rolling through this area, expect some lane closures and perhaps slow it down a bit – the speed limit will be down to 55mph. And be alert as crews will be grunting away close to the roadway. This project is expected to be wrapped up by November 1.

Over in Simpson County, paving on KY 1008 (mile point 0.0 to 6.5) is almost complete, with only some finishing work outstanding. Please be prepared for potential lane closures and possible delays.

Meanwhile, crews will be flexing their muscles on widening a small section of KY 100 near the Trader’s Joe facility (mile point 13.6 to 13.9). Keep your eyes peeled for some lane closures while this work is being finished.

In Warren County, on Commonwealth Boulevard, there will be bridge repair work on KY 3145. This big job will cause a long term road closure. Commonwealth Boulevard will be shutting down near the KY 3145 bridge starting the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 4, with the road reopening scheduled for November 15. Remember, this timetable might change. Don’t fret, a signed detour will be in place using Prosperity Road, Production Avenue, Fred Madison Road, Jody Richards Drive, and U.S. 68.

Stay connected and updated on traffic impacts because, as always, road work schedules are subject to variation. But hey, that’s the price for keeping our roads smooth, safe, and looking good. Drive safely!
