BOWLING GREEN, KY – The community of Bowling Green is coming together to remember and honor Phil Price, a beloved local resident who passed away on September 20, 2024, at the age of 68. Surrounded by his family at his home, Phil’s departure leaves a significant void in the hearts of those who knew him.
Phil was born on May 12, 1956, to the late Ralph Bratton Price and Lanwood Brockett Price. Having spent his entire life in Bowling Green, he was a familiar face in the community. Known for his kindness and reliability, Phil was highly regarded by friends, family, and acquaintances alike. “He was loved, trustworthy and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him,” shared a family friend.
Phil is survived by his wife, Lisa Meredith Price, his two sons, Andy Price (Haley) and Lee Price (Jordan), and a cherished brother, Ferrell Price (Elaine). He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Mason Price, Fordham Price, Houston Price, and Bristol Price, all of whom live in Bowling Green.
An active member of the community, Phil was deeply involved in various local organizations. He was a member of the Methodist Church, where he participated in numerous activities that uplifted the community. In 2017, he was honored with the title of Honorable Kentucky Colonel, a recognition often associated with individuals who have made notable contributions to Kentucky and its communities.
In his professional life, Phil made his mark as a co-owner of EH Harris Lumber Company and also co-owned the Vette City Antique Mall. He was a partner in Red Rock Construction, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to local business growth. Additionally, he was a former member of the BG Homebuilders Association as well as the Bowling Green Purples Quarterback Club.
As the community mourns the loss of Phil, funeral services are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Following the service, Phil will be laid to rest at the Bowling Green Gardens.
The family will welcome visitors for a time of remembrance beginning Monday, September 23, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, starting at 10:00 AM until the service commences at 2:00 PM.
Phil Price’s legacy is one of community, family, and friendship. His passing has left a profound impact on the Bowling Green area, and he will be heavily missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The outpouring of love and support from the community reflects the type of person Phil was—a gentle soul who touched many lives.
As everyone prepares to say their final goodbyes, it is clear that Phil’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
