New York Woman Held for Car Chase in Bowling Green
The otherwise peaceful streets of Bowling Green, Kentucky, were stirred by heated action on the night of Thursday, August 2, 2024. A high-speed pursuit that extended approximately 35 miles initiated by a routine traffic stop ended in a dramatic arrest.
At the heart of the incident was Nimora Kincaid, a 44-year-old from Rochester, New York, the driver of a 2024 black Toyota 4-Runner. Kincaid found herself facing multiple charges after leading the Kentucky State Police on an unexpected vehicular chase.
The vehicle, reportedly rented in New York early Thursday, travelled into middle Tennessee. Abnormalities started to surface when it was discovered that both Kincaid and another occupant had allegedly been involved in a bout of shoplifting throughout the day. Kincaid, herself, already had a string of out-of-state warrants and resisting charges along with serious felony charges from Brentwood, Tennessee.
The black SUV in question was first located travelling northbound on Interstate 65, near the state line. When the authorities intercepted the vehicle at the 25.6-mile marker, things took a turn for the worse. As officers interacted with Kincaid and requested she step out of the vehicle, she refused. One trooper even reached in to physically remove her, but Kincaid sped off, instigating a hazardous chase.
The resultant pursuit saw Kincaid reaching speeds upwards of 120 miles per hour, driving dangerously, and even turning off her vehicle lights multiple times, thereby endangering other drivers.
With safety a priority, officers laid out a tire deflation device at the 58-mile marker, which successfully halted Kincaid’s reckless dash. The vehicle then ran into an embankment after passing through a rest stop. Both the driver and the passenger were then arrested without further conflict.
Inside the vehicle, authorities found goods matching descriptions of those reported stolen, totaling around $4,700. Notably, the vehicle sustained significant damage estimated to be over $1,000.
Denying any knowledge about the warrants, Kincaid was taken to the Warren County Detention Center, where she stands accused of a myriad of charges. These include speeding, evading police, endangering a police officer, receiving stolen property, reckless driving, failure to illuminate head lamps, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. The passenger, on separate charges, was transported to the Hart County Jail.
This event serves as a stark reminder of the risks and dangers that the brave men and women entrusted with maintaining law and order face daily.
