After the first day of action, the leaderboard positioned WKU in fifth place with a combined score of 602, sitting at +26 for the tournament. The team rallied, eventually finishing with a score of 898, while Purdue University emerged victorious with an overall score of 877.

On the first day, Hackett’s standout performance saw her tied for third place with a score of 1-under 143, contributing to the team’s strong showing. The Lady Tops had multiple players positioned well, with two finishing in the Top 20 and three managing to snag spots in the Top 30.

Amidst the competition, Averi Cline made a splash, recording WKU’s only eagle during the tournament on the par-5 No. 8 hole during her second round. This moment energized the team, which had a total of 117 pars, the best across the tournament. Additionally, WKU was tied for second place in par 3 scoring with a cumulative 9-over, while Purdue excelled, boasting a 2-under score by the end of the day.
