Sponsor Our ArticlesBowling Green welcomes a new facility from AAA Cooper Transportation, investing $13.2 million and creating 20 job opportunities. The Planning Commission approved the rezoning for the 16,000-square-foot site on Whitney Drive, promising significant economic growth for the community. This long-term investment marks a major development, aiming to enhance local employment and support for residents.
Big news is on the horizon for Bowling Green as AAA Cooper Transportation, a company with deep roots in the South, gears up to establish a shiny new facility right in our backyard! This is a long-term investment we’re talking about here; a whopping $13.2 million is being pumped into the local economy. Isn’t that fantastic?
On March 6, 2025, the City-County Planning Commission of Warren County gave the green light by voting a resounding 7-0 in favor of rezoning 15.8 acres along Whitney Drive. The land, previously zoned for agriculture, is now officially light industrial. This is a significant step for not just AAA Cooper Transportation but also for the local community eager for job opportunities.
Wondering where this new facility will be? It’s perfectly situated near Russellville Road and close to the Southwest Parkway, which connects to the bustling Southcentral Kentucky Industrial Park. With this prime location, AAA Cooper aims to ramp up its operations and services in the region seamlessly.
Once operational, the facility will feature a spacious 16,000-square-foot industrial building, including ample parking for semi-trucks. This not only sets the stage for expanding the company’s presence but also means new jobs. They are looking to create 20 new jobs, which local residents can apply for—how exciting is that?
Founded way back in 1955, AAA Cooper Transportation is a well-established player in the transportation industry. As a subsidiary of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings, the company boasts an impressive operational footprint with over 70 terminals and a fleet of 3,000 tractors and 7,000 trailers covering the Southeast and Midwest regions. They offer a variety of services including less-than-truckload, dedicated carriage, and even international freight transportation. Isn’t it great to see such a large company committing to local growth?
The rezoning status becomes final three weeks after the planning commission’s approval unless the Bowling Green City Commission decides to appeal. That means we can expect to see construction moving swiftly, as the company looks to set a strong footprint in the Bowling Green community.
The decision has been met with enthusiasm from local leaders, signaling a strong commitment to fostering a thriving business climate. City officials are not just hopeful, they are downright excited about the future this expansion can bring. More jobs mean more growth, and that’s something everyone can get behind!
In addition to AAA Cooper’s big announcement, there were other significant approvals during the same planning commission meeting. Verizon Wireless received a nod for a variance to put up a cell tower closer to the intended site than standard regulations allow. Also, Jennifer Sharber from Keeping It LLC got the green light to operate a short-term rental at 1244 Magnolia Street. All these developments show that Bowling Green is buzzing with activity!
All in all, AAA Cooper Transportation’s new facility is more than just a building; it symbolizes growth, opportunity, and a bright future for Bowling Green. With local leaders backing this project and a strong sense of community, the sky is the limit for what lies ahead. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates—we’re sure there are more exciting announcements just around the corner!
