Love & Grace Foundation Celebrates National Foster Care Day with Community Awareness Events

Bowling Green, Ky., May 7 – National Foster Care Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the essential role of foster families in transforming the lives of forlorn children and youth, unfolds with festivities and awareness campaigns. A new entrant in the realm of non-profit organizations, the Love & Grace Foundation, has taken the front seat, orchestrating three exciting events throughout the day at the Barren County YMCA, Franklin Community Church, and Southern Lanes in Bowling Green.

The day not solely concentrates on amusements like a gym maze, a bounce house, a playground, a bowling night, and laser tag, but also aims to enlighten foster parents on community resources at their disposal.

Events To Foster Community Integration

Kerri Mercer of the Love & Grace Foundation, who is also a foster parent, voiced her view, “Events like this are imperative to network, support each other, and find out what resources are now available. It also brings our kids together so they know they’re not alone in this.”

These events provide a platform for foster children and their families to gather in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. At the Barren County YMCA, attendees will be entertained with a gym maze, prize drawings, a pizza party and a unique opportunity to obtain a free YMCA membership from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Creating An Ambience Of Joy

The Franklin Community Church in Simpson County promises a fun-filled afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., featuring a bounce house, a playground, face painting, and a dance party. Afterward, Southern Lanes invites kids to enjoy bowling, laser tag, and bumper car rides from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Love & Grace Foundation’s Grand Opening

The Love & Grace Foundation is not stopping at celebrating the National Foster Care Day. They are all set to host their grand opening on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1366 Kenton Street in Bowling Green. The opening will allow visitors to explore their multi-room foster closet boutique, “layover suite,” and more, thereby solidifying the Foundation’s commitment to providing support for foster families.

National Foster Care Day, thus, represents an opportunity to direct the community’s attention to the foster care system, emphasizing the importance of foster parents and organizations like the Love & Grace Foundation in nurturing foster children. With the energetic participation of local communities, it is hoped that these events will inspire more individuals to engage with and rally around the valuable cause of fostering.
