ALVATON, Ky. – Steer Returns Home Safe and Sound

In a joyous turn of events, Boston, a 2,000 lb. shaggy red steer named who was reported missing in February, has been found safe. This much-loved pet steer had been absent from his Alvaton home since February 24, leaving his family and the local community worried for his whereabouts and wellbeing.

The alarm was raised when Boston and his pasture partner, Hazel, both disappeared from their home on W G Talley Road in Alvaton. Hazel returned home the following day, but there was no sign of Boston.

Boston’s Disappearance Leaves Community Anxious

Boston’s owner, Brandi Fuller, shared how they had expected to be notified of the animals’ presence quickly, given their conspicuous size and friendly nature. “They just kind of roam people’s yards and so, normally someone calls pretty quickly but something happened where they got separated,” she said.

Fuller described her relief at the return of Hazel, but the prolonged absence of Boston kept her on edge. As Boston was rejected by his mother as a calf, Fuller had taken him under her care. Over the next four years, he became a central part of the family, essentially becoming a 1-ton lap dog, Fuller said with a smile.

A Happy Reunion

After a search that stretched out for more than a week, Boston was found not too far away from his Alvaton home. Details of exactly where he was found and what led to his wayward trek are yet to be revealed. At present, Fuller is focusing her efforts on safely returning the steer back to his familiar surroundings.

Community members have expressed relief and celebration following the news of Boston’s safety. The circumstances of his return home have still not been disclosed, but the main concern of everyone is the health and happiness of Boston, the shaggy red steer who is much more than just a pet to the residents of Alvaton.

Reminder to Pet Owners

The incident has served as a reminder of the responsibilities of pet ownership. Especially for those who own large animals such as steers, the care, safety and well-being of these creatures should always be a priority. Proper enclosures and safe pasturing techniques are essential to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

For now, the people of Alvaton can rest easy, as Boston, the beloved steer, has been found safe and is on his way back home.
