Local Ice Cream Business Supports Veterans with Charity Event in Bowling Green

Got a sweet tooth and a fondness for flashy motor vehicles? Well, we’ve got some wonderful news for you! Bowling Green, Kentucky is hosting an event that will have you leaping for joy while saluting our nation’s heroes.

On September 7th, your favorite local ice cream folks from Scoops of Joy are cooling things down at a car show at Texas Roadhouse. But, before you dismiss it as just another summer shindig, there’s a twist!

This fun, family-friendly event is pulling double duty. It’s not just any car show – it’s a car show with a purpose. And that purpose? To give back to those who’ve given so much for our beautiful, striped and starred nation: the veterans and the active military.

So, while attendees get to admire sparkling rides that would make any gearhead’s heart race, they also get to enjoy some delicious, frosty scoops courtesy of Scoops of Joy – a local business that employs a team of hardworking individuals with Down syndrome.

All the money raised during the event will go straight into the pockets of our brave veterans and active military personnel. How, you ask? By boosting the Hero Card program, which then rewards our heroes with nifty gift cards on Veterans Day. Pretty neat, huh?

The event timings are pretty early bird-friendly, with the car show scheduled to show its beautiful face at 9:30 a.m. and bless us with its presence all the way until 1:00 p.m.

Now, if you’re still here, you must be wondering why ice cream and cars, right? Well, they say some things just go together like peas in a pod. And just imagine, a delectable scoop of vanilla on a hot summer’s day, under a sky built with big puffy clouds, checking out some of the finest cars you’ve laid your eyes upon. Pure joy

And hey, beyond all that, this is about more than just ice cream and sleek cars. It’s about our community, our veterans, our active military, and our ability to show them some gratitude. It’s about including our buddies with Down syndrome, making them an integral part of us and our love for all things sweet.

This September 7th pairs a perfect chance to appreciate some stunning vintage cars and give a well-deserved nod to our troops by putting smiles on the faces of our veterans and active military. It’s a silent salute, only with a lot more sundaes and coupes. So hop in your pick-ups, jeeps, or your old station wagon and get ready to fuel up your day with mouthful scoops of joy!

And remember, every scoop helps out a soldier! So let’s pack the house and show them some hometown love, Bowling Green style.
