Known for her compassion and dedication, Lesa’s contributions as a Registered Nurse and Infection Preventionist touched many lives. A Celebration of Life ceremony is scheduled for December 21, inviting all to honor her legacy. The family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers, reflecting her lifelong commitment to caring for others.
Bowling Green is in mourning after the peaceful passing of a cherished member of the community, Lesa Carol Herndon Moody, who left this world at the age of 57 on Tuesday. The love and support of her family surrounded her during her final moments at the home of her mother and stepfather, reflecting the deep connections she kept throughout her life.
Born in Lexington, KY, Lesa was the daughter of the late Charles Herndon and Carol Spicer Martin, who remains a loving presence in the world. Lesa carved out a distinguished career as a Registered Nurse and excelled as a Certified Critical Care Nurse at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. Additionally, she made significant contributions in her role as an Infection Preventionist at Sky Rehab. Her commitment to helping others was not just seen in her professional life, but also in how she touched the hearts of her patients and their families.
A devoted individual, Lesa identified as a Methodist and held a profound love for her Lord and Savior. This faith guided her through life and was a source of comfort for those around her. Lesa is remembered not just for her skills in nursing, but as a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Many would agree that she was an “Angel without wings,” illuminating the lives of those in her care.
Lesa’s husband, Bryan Moody, was her partner and support for 17 wonderful years. She leaves behind her mother Carol, her stepfather Gary T. Martin, her brother J.C. Martin, her niece Lauren N. Martin, and her best friend Denise Sanborn and her husband Bob, who have cherished memories filled with laughter and love.
To honor the beautiful life of Lesa Carol Herndon Moody, a Celebration of Life is set to take place on Saturday, December 21. The community is invited to gather for visitation from 4:00 pm until the service at 6:00 pm. This heartfelt event will occur at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Everyone is warmly encouraged to join and share in the fond memories of a life well-lived.
