Local Leaders Selected for Prestigious Statewide Leadership Program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In yet another testament to the state’s diversity and richness of talent, numerous local women have been selected as part of this year’s ELEVATE Kentucky class, a prestigious Leadership Kentucky program.

Equipping Kentucky’s Leaders for Tomorrow

Launched in 2017, ELEVATE Kentucky offers a comprehensive personal and professional development platform, geared towards fostering a greater understanding of the challenges confronting Kentucky. This initiative takes a deep dive into issues and opportunities within the state, oriented towards shaping more insightful, proactive leaders who can navigate these complexities confidently.

The selected individuals participate in three sessions spreading from April to June, held in disparate state regions including Owensboro, Pikeville/Prestonsburg, and Frankfort/Northern Kentucky. Here, they will have the opportunity to engage with Kentucky’s thought leaders, partake in experiential learning exercises, engage in discussions, and develop their adaptive, strategic leadership skills.

A Platform for Change

ELEVATE Kentucky does more than just groom leaders; it crafts changemakers. Abby Townsend, a proud alumna of the ELEVATE Class of 2023, shares her transformative journey through the program, saying, “Because of ELEVATE, I will stand tall, tell my story, help to lift others as I climb, display vulnerability and courage, and never forget where I came from.”

The program aims to empower participants to return to their workplaces as better equipped, more informed, and conscious leaders capable of being catalysts for positive change in their organizations and communities. While the program acknowledges the unique and significant challenges facing the state, it also seeks to reaffirm the shared commitment towards a prosperous Kentucky.

A Diverse Cohort

This year’s class is composed of 28 representatives from different parts of the state, reflecting a vibrant mix of public and private sectors. The multifaceted group includes professionals from healthcare, law, education, finance, manufacturing, and more. Through their participation, these individuals will be given the platform to network with their peers, learn from each other’s experiences, and drive substantive change in the state of Kentucky.

Looking Ahead

Leadership Kentucky’s unwavering commitment to cultivating the state’s next generation of leaders aligns with Kentucky’s vision for a future led by innovative, conscientious leaders dedicated to the civic and economic progression of their communities. As these individuals continue to take on increasing responsibilities in their careers and personal lives, they will carry with them the diverse, profound experiences from ELEVATE Kentucky, better positioning them to navigate and shape a dynamic, ever-evolving future.
