Kids on the Block Producing a New Nonprofit Directory

In Bowling Green, Kentucky, a New Nonprofit Directory Takes Form

Children’s organization, Kids on the Block, has announced they are working on a new, comprehensive directory focused on nonprofit organizations. The aim is to foster a stronger community by offering more visibility and accessibility to these crucial foundations. Nonprofit organizations often form the backbone of many local communities, offering valuable resources and services that may otherwise get overlooked.

Impact on the Community

The primary goal of this new directory is to connect local residents who may need assistance with nonprofits that can help. More exposure for these organizations translates into more impact in the community. “Non-profits make a massive difference in the community”, says Morgan Brady, an Intern with Kentucky Kids on the Block.

Unseen Areas of Nonprofit Work

Brady further touched on the less visible, yet valuable aspects of nonprofits, stating, “Even just in the few weeks that I’ve been here, I’ve already learned a lot. And so getting to see, I think the areas that aren’t always front and center, but, you know, the inner workings of them are so important and are what really build the community, I think, is one of the most rewarding parts.”

Beneficial for Kids on the Block and Beyond

While the directory will surely benefit the Kids on the Block, the impact goes far beyond this single organization. All nonprofits listed in the directory are likely to see a positive result from this initiative, as it raises awareness of their mission and services within the community. The hope is that the directory will open up pathways of collaboration, community engagement, and resource sharing among nonprofits themselves.
