Governor Andy Beshear, in a formal announcement made on Thursday, pointed out the economic upswing the tourism industry has brought to the Commonwealth, and gave a nod to Warren County for its considerable contribution.
Warren County: A Major Contributor
According to an update from the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Bowling Green contributed $39.3 million in state and local tax revenues, highlighting an increase of almost 8% from last year’s record. Warren County itself accounted for 3.6% of the total state tourism economy. Lauren Guess, Communications Director for Visit BGKY says, ““The 3.6% may not seem like a lot, but considering the broad spectrum of tourism activities across the state, it is indeed a substantial contribution.”
