The buzz is undeniably in the air as Bowling Green gears up to host Adair County in the highly anticipated first round of the Kentucky boys’ basketball Sweet 16 tournament. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 26, because the action tips off at 11 a.m. ET, and you won’t want to miss a moment!
This historic game is set to take place at the iconic Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, a venue that has seen thousands flock to its stands for thrilling basketball action over the years. The tournament runs from March 26 to March 29, showcasing some of the best high school talent our state has to offer.
Bowling Green enters the tournament with an impressive record of 27 wins and 6 losses, showing they have what it takes to put up a fight. Adair County, on the other hand, boasts an even stronger record of 30 wins and 5 losses. Both teams have proven they can hold their own, and this matchup is sure to be one for the books!
This year’s tournament features a single-elimination format. That means every game counts, and every shot could be the difference between victory and defeat. The tournament features a total of sixteen teams, including heavyweights like Montgomery County, Henderson County, South Oldham, and many more. Four first-round games will take place on March 26, along with another four on March 27, creating a whirlwind of high-energy basketball action.
As teams battle it out on the court, the quarterfinals will happen on March 28, setting the stage for the semifinals and championship game on March 29. The semifinals are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., so fans can cheer on their favorites before the championship showdown at 7:30 p.m. on the same day.
