Bowling Green, KY – Joyce McCoy Ennis, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully at her home on September 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old.
Born to Owen and Mary Elizabeth Free McCoy, Joyce was a strong and caring individual. She devoted her life to her family, which included her two daughters, Amanda Hinton and Elizabeth Ennis, as well as her two sons, Gregory Allan Ennis and Daniel Ennis. Joyce took great pride in her family, also being a doting grandmother to six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was known for her warmth and support, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.
Joyce was an active member of the Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, where she found a sense of belonging and community. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her everyday life, and she was known for encouraging others in their spiritual journeys.
Joyce is survived by her two sisters, Freda Dugger, Silvia Glass (Larry), and Mary Creech (Jim). She built strong relationships with her siblings and valued the time spent together over the years. Her family also includes many cherished nieces and nephews who looked up to her as a guiding figure in their lives.
Joyce’s family is heartbroken by her passing, particularly as she was preceded in death by her son, Laddie Ennis, along with five brothers—Jack McCoy, Marshal McCoy, Billy McCoy, Phillip McCoy, and Jerry Murrel McCoy—and two sisters, Janet Dilley and Norma Dial. The loss of these family members has left a significant void that is felt throughout the family circle.
In honor of her life, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.
