For many, the month of March brings to mind springtime and St. Patrick’s Day, but for Jersey Mike’s locations nationwide, it’s the month of giving. This year, they’ve made March 27 their Day of Giving. All proceeds from the day’s sales at Jersey Mike’s locations in Bowling Green and Glasgow will be going to the local charity, Kids on the Block. This marks the second consecutive year that the charity organization has been chosen as the beneficiary of this day of generosity.
Last year’s Day of Giving allowed the Kids on the Block charity to raise around $14, 500, significantly aiding its goal of positively impacting young lives in the community. Regina Pedigo, a puppeteer for the organization, expressed her enthusiasm for the donation event. “We can’t do what we do without staff and a funding source like this, that contributes approximately three-fourths of a yearly salary for a puppeteer. This kind of donation is of great help,” she said.
Supporting Kids on the Block has never been easier or tastier! Dining at any Jersey Mike’s location in Bowling Green or Glasgow before 9 p.m. on March 27 is all that it takes. Remember, 100% of your purchase goes directly to the charity.
Funds raised during Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving are instrumental to the ongoing operations of Kids on the Block. Known for their creative use of puppetry as a teaching tool, the organization conducts educational and therapeutic puppet shows to help kids with individual growth and development. Their innovative programs include topics of health, social concerns, and cultural diversity. Since its inception, Kids on the Block has impacted countless young lives in Bowling Green and Glasgow area, empowering them to make more informed real-life choices.
