Bowling Green is mourning the loss of a beloved member of the community, Jamie Mae Glass, who passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. At just 42 years old, Jamie touched the lives of so many with her kind heart and cheerful spirit. Her family and friends are coming to grips with the sudden loss, as they remember her vibrant personality and the joy she brought into their lives.
Born to the late Archie, Jr. and Patricia Ann Fulcher Glass, Jamie was more than just a daughter; she was a shining light in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Jamie had a passion for retail, where she thrived on interacting with customers and spreading a little sunshine in their day. It’s no surprise to her loved ones that she excelled in this field; her outgoing demeanor made her a natural fit for customer service.
Though Jamie’s journey was not without its challenges, she fought bravely through the trials life threw her way. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Key, II, which makes her passing even more heart-wrenching for her family. But Jamie’s love only multiplied as she found support in her extended family who were like parents to her – Tawanna and Bobby Key. They stood by her side through thick and thin, providing love and guidance as she navigated life.
Jamie leaves behind a vibrant family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her siblings — Katie Bennett, Albert Rigsby, and Kimberly Anderson, who shares a home with her husband, William. In addition to her siblings, Jamie had several nieces, nephews, and cousins who added joy and laughter to her life.
Among the many who are grieving her loss is her fiancé, Reece Smith, who shared a loving bond with Jamie and looked forward to building a future together. They supported each other in all aspects of life, making it even harder to bear this heartbreaking farewell.
Jamie also had two aunts, Frankie Poteet and Shirley Glass, as well as one uncle, Johnny Glass, who will remember her with affection and sadness during this difficult time.
In times like these, it’s important to come together and support each other. Jamie Mae Glass was loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As we reflect on her life, let’s remember the laughter, love, and kindness she spread throughout her journey. The legacy she leaves behind will surely continue to inspire those of us she touched.
