This monumental victory comes after a whirlwind of action during the KHSAA Boys’ Basketball Sweet 16 state tournament. The Warhawks were nothing short of spectacular, showcasing an impressive four wins in just three days. Their path to the championship started with a strong showing against Daviess County, where they cruised to a 69-37 victory. They then stormed past Cooper, ending that matchup with a 49-36 score, before taking down Montgomery County to secure their spot in the finals with a 70-49 triumph.

Great Crossing finished the tournament with a fantastic overall record of 35-4 and boasted an incredible 27-game winning streak leading into the championship game—a testimony to their hard work and determination throughout the season.

Star Performers Shine Bright

Great Crossing’s victory was propelled by none other than the standout player of the night, Malachi Moreno. The University of Kentucky signee turned heads with an outstanding performance, racking up 24 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. He also showcased remarkable efficiency by shooting an astounding 10 of 11 from the field! Alongside him, Vince Dawson III contributed 18 points, while Gage Richardson made a significant impact with 15 points.

On the other side of the court, Bowling Green’s Kadyn Carpenter led his team with 19 points, making his mark despite the loss.
