The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, the pioneering institution known for nurturing talented students, has officially selected 98 exceptional sophomores for its Class of 2027. This year’s group showcases a fresh batch of young minds brimming with enthusiasm and potential, eager to make their mark!
A Rigorous Selection Process
The road to acceptance wasn’t a walk in the park. Candidates underwent a thorough selection process that assessed a variety of factors. These bright students were evaluated on their ACT and SAT scores, high school grades, as well as notable awards and accomplishments they brought to the table. Extracurricular activities played a significant role too, adding another layer to their impressive profiles.
To make sure they picked the cream of the crop, the selection committee also took into account responses to essay and short answer questions, alongside recommendation forms. And yes, interviews were part of the process too!
