Franklin Community Church (FCC) in Kentucky will be hosting its much-awaited 6th Annual Car & Motorcycle Show this coming Saturday, June 22. This event is more than just an auto show, it serves as the church’s primary source of raising funds aimed to provide Thanksgiving dinners to at least 350 families residing in Simpson County.
The deacon at Franklin Community Church, Steve Henson, expressed, “In the last five years, we have been able to feed over 1700 families Thanksgiving dinners,” This show has played an instrumental role in their mission. The Church eagerly looks forward to another beneficial year.
FCC, recognizing the needs of the community, joined hands with different ministries to devise a plan to satisfy the need. Local businesses have been supportive, generously assisting with the event that has earned the reputation of being a community staple.
Deacon Henson stressed the importance of communal support, “We could not do this without the help of the small businesses in the community that donate and the volunteers with all the time they spend getting it ready,” He further added, “Of course, let’s not forget the people that bring their cars and their motorcycles to the show to help support us.”
Besides the slew of vehicles on display, visitors can partake in various activities such as silent auctions, raffles, and drawings. Door prizes are available to win, and local stall and food truck vendors offer a variety of foods for visitors to enjoy.
The delightful variety of the show caters to all, allowing anyone to bring any vehicle they fancy. “Bring your car, tractor, anything you are proud to talk about, bring it to the show and enter it and we’d love to talk to you,” stated Henson.Deepening the allure of the event, trophies will be awarded at the end of the day to some of these unique entries.
Vehicle registration commences at 8 am on June 22 at the FCC (822 Blackjack Rd. Franklin, KY). A registration fee of $20 per vehicle applies. The show officially opens an hour later at 9 am and continues until 3 pm.
If one wishes to contribute to the cause but is unable to attend the show, donations can be made online through the Franklin Community Church website.
By combining a community’s passion for cars and motorcycles with a noble cause, the FCC’s Annual Car & Motorcycle Show remains a beacon of compassion and philanthropy. As the Franklin community and beyond converges on FCC for this event, they’ll enjoy not just a showcase of gleaming metal and reverberating engines but a wholesome day of community spirit and giving.
