Food Drive Launches at Warren Central High School to Support Local Families

Bowling Green, Ky. – Food Drive Kicks Off at Warren Central High School!

It’s that time of year again when the community comes together to lend a helping hand! Warren Central High School Athletics is organizing a heartwarming food drive to benefit those in need through the local chapter of Feeding America. This initiative kicks off alongside the much-anticipated Friday Night 5G Lights Contest, and it’s a fantastic way to support local families while enjoying some great football!

How to Participate

If you’re rooting for the Dragons this Friday, you can be part of the action and give back at the same time! It’s simple: just bring in non-perishable food items to the school. The top items being requested include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meat
  • Soups
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned green beans or corn

Gather up those items around your home that you no longer need or perhaps pick up a few extras during your next grocery run. It’s a small effort for you, but it makes a huge difference to someone who is struggling.

Incentives for Giving

Here’s an exciting incentive! The first 50 students who donate three or more of the preferred items will receive free admission to the Friday night football game. That’s right! Not only can you show your support for a great cause, but you’ll also get to enjoy an exciting evening under the lights with your fellow students and community members.

The Community Spirit Shines

The food drive will run until Friday, Nov. 15, so there’s still plenty of time to contribute. This kind of collaboration between the school and community members showcases the true spirit of Bowling Green. Events like this remind us all of the importance of giving back and looking after one another.

Children and teenagers often learn values from their community, and initiatives like these play a part in teaching them about empathy and generosity. As students bring in food donations, they foster a sense of camaraderie and solidarity with those less fortunate in their own neighborhood.

What’s Next?

So, mark your calendars, gather those non-perishable items, and get ready to cheer on the Dragons this Friday evening! Participating in the food drive is a win-win situation— you help feed families in need and get to enjoy a fun football game with friends. Remember, the goal is not just to fill donation bins but to fill hearts with kindness and compassion.

Join the Movement!

Let’s all pull on our community spirit and support this fantastic initiative! Whether you are a student, parent, or community member, every little bit counts, and together we can make a big impact. Let’s help to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry this season!

As we gear up for the big game and the spirit of giving, let’s remember that together we can light up lives with our generosity. Happy giving, Bowling Green!
