Two Lives Claimed in Fatal I-165 Car Crash
BOWLING GREEN, Ky
– A tragic accident left two people dead on Tuesday night after a collision on Interstate 165. A car travelling in the wrong direction resulted in a fatal head-on collision, authorities reported.
The Tragic Incident
The Kentucky State Police (KSP) reported having received a call about a severe accident involving a head-on collision around 10 p.m. Responding to the scene near the 2.2-mile marker in the northbound lanes, troopers discovered the horrific aftermath of a devastating accident.
A preliminary investigation deduced that a silver Chevrolet Cruze had been driving southbound in the northbound lanes, resulting in a fatal head-on collision. Authorities identified Angela Dockery, aged 44 and a resident of Morgantown, as the driver of the Chevrolet.
As per the investigation, Dockery had been driving in the wrong direction when she crashed head-on into a yellow Dodge Charger. The driver of the Charger was identified as Kinsley Demontigny, 23, from Henderson, Tennessee.
Fatal Aftermath
Tragically, Dockery was already dead by the time responders arrived on the scene while Demontigny was rushed to The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Despite measures taken by the medical team, Demontigny succumbed to the injuries sustained during the accident.
An Ongoing Investigation
Responsibility for the investigation has been given to Trooper Michael Wathen from the KSP. As the investigation into this case continues, no further information regarding the cause of the accident or any contributing factors is being released at this time.
With the entire community in shock, condolences have started to pour in from all corners for both families, inducing a somber air in the region. Residents have started advocating for stricter measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
