Brownsville, Ky – The anticipation is mounting in Edmonson County and its principal city, Brownsville, as they make ready for the Brownsville Bash, set to start on May 30th. This annual fest, now in its third year, is a highly anticipated event attracting locals and visitors alike with a variety of family-friendly activities such as the Big Bash Baby Show, the 5k race, and the Big Bash Car Show. However, due to recent flooding, the eagerly awaited canoe/kayak race will not be a part of the attractions this year.
From May 30th until June 1st, the Edmonson Chamber of Commerce will transform the streets of Brownsville into a bustling site of fun-filled activity. The usually serene locale will be adorned by stalls and food vendors, buzzing with car and truck enthusiasts, music aficionados, and gourmands hoping to sample the best of south central Kentucky cuisine.
The citizens and businesses alike participate enthusiastically in the lead up to the bash, contributing to the preparations as eagerly as they partake in the celebration. Local businesses expand their inventories to cater to the increase in customers, street corners are decorated with banners and streamers, and the scheduled performers ready their sets for what promises to be a memorable three days.
While many popular events will make their return this year, the absence of the canoe/kayak race will definitely be felt. The race, a crowd favorite, had to be canceled due to recent flooding. Despite its absence, the spirit of the bash remains intact with the promise of the other scheduled activities and gatherings. Among the most anticipated are the Big Bash Baby Show – a family favorite featuring the cutest babies of the county, the 5k race promoting health and fitness amidst the festivities, and the Big Bash Car Show – a treat for motor enthusiasts from all around.
As the days draw nearer, the excitement levels continue to escalate among residents and visitors alike. With the possibilities of making fond memories on the horizon, everyone involved waits in eager anticipation, looking forward to the start of the much-loved Brownsville Bash in Edmonson County.
