Hello from Bowling Green! – Get Ready for the National Corvette Museum’s Big 3-0

Hello from Bowling Green!

Get Ready for the National Corvette Museum’s Big 3-0

There’s a big ol’ birthday party brewin’ at the National Corvette Museum right here in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They’re gearing up to celebrate their 30th anniversary on Labor Day weekend, and let me tell you, it’s gonna be a hoot!

From August 28 to September 1, 2024, the museum will be drawing in Corvette fans from every nook and cranny around the globe for this big ol’ hootenanny. They’re organizing one heck of a Corvette Caravan, which sort of takes us back to when the museum swung-open its doors in ’94 for the first time.

What is this Corvette Caravan all about, you ask? Well, fill up your hitch and grab your road-trip snacks, ’cause this ain’t no ordinary road trip. Thousands of Corvette owners and fans will be zigzagging their way across the good old U.S. of A. to join in the fun at the museum. “The Corvette Caravan is like a rolling car show that lights up roads from all corners of the country,” says the museum’s interim bigwig.

Nothing says “you’re in Corvette country now” better than checkered flags. So, they’ll be swapping out the flags on the Beautifi-65 Welcome Sign installations with them on August 28 to cheer on the Corvette Caravan arriving in our Warren County.

Generation Radio, that snazzy band with talented folks from Rascall Flatts, Chicago, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, are also set to jam out as the head act for the closing concert on August 31. They’ll be raising the roof at the Circus Square Park, with the first act hitting the stage at 6:30 p.m. CT and Generation Radio rocking it out from 8:30 p.m. CT onwards.

But wait, there’s more:

  • You’ll get to lay your eyes on Corvettes of every generation – you’re in for some real treats!
  • Rev your engines ’cause there’s also an opportunity to take E-Ray and Stingray for touring laps at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park.
  • Ever wondered how Corvette engines come to life? There’s gonna be a live demonstration of an engine build from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.
  • Get to know the secrets behind the Corvettes that got swallowed up by that infamous Bowling Green sinkhole in a special presentation by the museum staff – “Artifact Pit Stops”.
  • And the icing on the cake? NY-LA Cannonball record holders, who drove their way across the country, are also slated to make an appearance and share their adrenalin-fueled experience with us all.

If this hullabaloo sounds like your cup of tea, you can scoot over to the museum’s website to check out the full schedule and soak up more details about this upcoming epic celebration.
