Bowling Green, KY is grieving the loss of a beloved member of the community, Sharon Sue Benardy, who passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was 48 years old.
Sharon was born on February 11, 1976, in Henderson, KY. She was the daughter of Lindle Lee Crowley and Marsha Jo Kirtley Crowley, both of whom live in Bowling Green. Sharon was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Sharon is survived by several loved ones. Her fiancé, Barry McCandless, stands alongside her two children, Casey Patrick Benardy and Andrea Ryan Benardy, who both reside in Bowling Green. Her two sisters, Jessica Crowley (married to Joel Birtel) of Bowling Green and Tracy Doyle (married to Hezzick) of Hartselle, AL, also mourn her passing. Additionally, Sharon was an adored aunt to nine nieces and nephews.
While Sharon’s family continues to honor her memory, they also remember those who have previously passed on. Sharon is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Earnest and Mary Kirtley, and her paternal grandparents, Herschel and Ammon L. Crowley. These family ties have built a strong foundation for the love and support Sharon shared throughout her life.
The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements for Sharon’s memorial services. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM. This service will take place at 2426 Ken Bale Blvd at their office. Friends, family, and community members are invited to come together to remember and celebrate Sharon’s life, sharing stories and reflecting on the positive impact she had on those around her.
In lieu of flowers, Sharon’s family kindly asks that expressions of sympathy be made through donations to Breast Cancer Research. This request is deeply significant, as its focus on research may lead to advancements that help others battling this disease.
