Just a few months ago, she was crowned Miss Kentucky in June 2024, and now she’s vying for the coveted title of Miss America 2025. This lively competition is happening at the fabulous The Walt Disney Theater in sunny Orlando, Florida, and it’s set to be an unforgettable event!
The grand finale of the Miss America competition is just around the corner, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2025. Get ready to cheer on this incredible young woman as she showcases her talents, charisma, and dedication on a national platform!
Chapel Tinius is not just a pretty face; she has deep roots in Bowling Green, where she grew up on a charming small horse farm. She’s the daughter of Jim and Dana Tinius and has always held a passion for the arts, leading her to pursue a remarkable education at Belmont University in Nashville. There, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater and a Bachelor of Arts degree in corporate communication, showcasing her dedication to both art and effective communication.
Currently, Tinius lends her skills to the Veterans Administration in Lexington, Kentucky, a reflection of her commitment to giving back to those who have served our country. During her time as Miss Kentucky, she launched a heartfelt community service initiative titled “Operation Gratitude: For the Fallen, For the Fighting, For the Veterans.” This project has been a driving force for Tinius, allowing her to raise awareness and funds for the Honor Flight Network. She has completed over 25 half marathons and even three full marathons during this process, proving that she’s definitely not one to back down from a challenge!
Not only is she passionate about service, but Chapel Tinius also carries a rich musical background. She’s performed locally and shined on stage in musicals, sharing her skills as a harpist and fiddler. This love for music has been a significant part of her life, especially during her 12 years with the Red River Fiddlers Band. Tinius knows how to captivate an audience both through her voice and her vibrant personality.
As she takes the stage, Tinius proudly represents the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and serves as a spokesperson for the Kentucky Proud Initiative. Her dedication to supporting veterans is unwavering, as she plans to bring a veteran to community events where she appears, further emphasizing her commitment to these heroes.
Looking beyond the Miss America competition, Chapel Tinius has her sights set on law school! It’s clear that her thirst for knowledge and service will only continue to grow as she pursues her ambitions. Throughout her journey, she remains incredibly grateful to her family and the Bowling Green community for their unwavering support. The title of Miss Kentucky has been a cherished dream of hers since childhood, and now she’s one step closer to achieving even greater heights.
