Bowling Green is in mourning after the untimely passing of a beloved young woman, Casey Ansted, who left us on December 7, 2024, at the age of 29. Her vibrant spirit touched the lives of so many, and the community is coming together to celebrate her remarkable journey.
Casey was born on October 24, 1995, in Toledo, Ohio. She had an extraordinary life filled with joy, laughter, and a wide range of interests from the start. At just three years old, she discovered her love for animals and the outdoors through Therapeutic Horse Back Riding in Oregon, Ohio. This early passion for equestrian activities set the tone for her adventurous spirit.
As she grew up, Casey continued to embrace life in all its fullness. For over six years, she was an integral part of Girl Scout Troop #599, learning teamwork and leadership while having endless fun with her fellow scouts. She was also a talented cheerleader on The Raptors Competitive Cheerleading Team, known for their incredible talent and determination. Under her cheerleading skills, they even took home the title of National Champions in Hendersonville, TN.
Casey was not just a cheerful competitor; she was also a dedicated student at The H.I.V.E. in Bowling Green, where she pursued her love for creativity and education. She was an active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where her contributions to the community were deeply appreciated by both family and friends.
Casey’s love for music and musical theater was unmatched. Whether it was singing her favorite Disney tunes or participating in local performances, she had a unique ability to brighten up any room with her voice. Her favorite saying that she shared with her dad captured her spirit perfectly: “If you make people smile, you can make people do anything!” This mantra exemplified her approach to life, always aiming to make others happy.
As friends, family, and the community gather to pay their respects, a visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Beginning at 6:30 pm, loved ones will have the chance to share their memories and celebrate the incredible life Casey lived. It will surely be an emotionally uplifting evening filled with love and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the Ansted family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to The H.I.V.E. located at 1818 US 31W By-Pass, Bowling Green, KY 42101 or to the Dream Factory at P.O. Box 172, Bowling Green, KY 42102. These organizations were close to Casey’s heart, and contributing to them is a beautiful way to honor her memory.
Casey Ansted’s spirit, infectious smile, and love for life will be sorely missed by all who knew her. As the community of Bowling Green comes together to remember her, we celebrate a life full of accomplishments, laughter, and love. Though she may be gone, her legacy will continue through the countless smiles she brought to the world.
