Bowling Green Woman Accused of DUI with Child in Vehicle

In Bowling Green, Kentucky, a woman finds herself faced with a dizzying number of charges following a drinking and driving incident. The woman, known as Cherry Shwe, aged 35, was apparently spotted drinking beer while driving by an individual who then reported it to the police.

The cops who attended to the call came across Shwe driving all over the place, nearly causing accidents left, right, and center. Upon turning on their lights and sirens behind her on Plano Road, the accused did not stop but continued driving. Reports say that she almost hit several vehicles during her wild ride.

When Shwe finally stopped her vehicle, she was promptly removed from it. Officers at the scene said they could detect a strong whiff of alcohol emanating from both Shwe and her vehicle. Inside her car, the police claim to have found two cans of Bud Ice beer – one of them still full of cold beer. Even more troubling was that there was a youngster in the back seat without a seat belt on.

In light of the circumstances, Shwe was taken to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for a health check-up. Her breathalyzer test reading came in at a shocking .306, according to the officials.

Following the medical evaluation, Shwe was arrested and loaded up with a host of charges. These included first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, driving under the influence of alcohol (first offense), and failure to wear seat belts. Shwe was transported to the Warren County Detention Center, where she was later released.

This case comes as a stark reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving. Laws regarding DUI exist to protect not only the drivers themselves but also everyone else who uses the roads. This incident also reinforces the importance of ensuring children travelling in vehicles are always secured with a seatbelt.
