Bowling Green, KY – In an exciting announcement, the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program of Southern Kentucky has named Darby Meredith as one of its national youth ambassadors. This distinguished role is held by only 42 youths from across the country, and Meredith is proud to represent her local community in this important initiative.
Darby, the daughter of Chris and Kelly Meredith, has exhibited a profound commitment to her community through her involvement with the Toys for Tots program in Bowling Green over the past several years. She is a dedicated student at Greenwood High School, where she balances her academic pursuits with a wide range of extracurricular activities.
In addition to her role with Toys for Tots, Darby is an active member of the Greenwood High School Golf Team, where she showcases her athletic skills. She also participates in the Future Farmers of America (FFA), Junior Parliament, Choir, Junior BETA Club, Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and A Cappella Choir. Her involvement in these organizations highlights her diverse interests and her passion for service and leadership.
Meredith’s dedication extends beyond her school activities. She has volunteered numerous hours with various community organizations. Through her work with Toys for Tots, she has been instrumental in delivering joy to children in need during the holiday season. Additionally, she has participated in initiatives supporting local nursing homes, the Kelly Autism Program, DSSKY, and the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.
Darby is also recognized for her leadership as a former Junior Board member of Kids on the Block, where she worked to promote education and awareness about important social issues among children.
Being selected as a national youth ambassador is a significant honor for Darby Meredith, and it reflects her commitment to service and her community. She now has the opportunity to make an even greater impact across the United States through the Toys for Tots program, working with other youth ambassadors to raise awareness and support for this important cause.
The Toys for Tots program has a vital mission: to collect and distribute toys for children who might not otherwise receive gifts during the holiday season. Darby’s role will help enhance the program’s outreach and ensure that children in need can experience the joy of receiving toys during the holidays.
The announcement of her selection has not only brought pride to Darby and her family but also shines a light on the Bowling Green community and its ongoing support of charitable initiatives.
