Bowling Green Rock Band Academy Launches Spring Semester

Academy Fuels the Future of Local Music

BOWLING GREEN, KY- The Bowling Green Rock Band Academy, a brainchild of local music artists and instructors Matt Devore and Jordan Weiss, commenced the spring semester on a high note. Founded in 2019, the Academy represents a promising beacon for Bowling Green’s music scene, boasting a suite of private lessons and the distinctive Rock Band Program for musicians of all ages.

“We are fully committed to delivering top-tier music education to everyone in our community,” remarked co-founder Matt Devore, employing an amicable mix of private lessons and group sessions.

Academy’s Origin and Growth

The Academy’s journey began with a week-long summer camp hosted by Weiss, Devore, and music enthusiast Kristy Helit. Catering to private students looking to band up with fellow musicians, the camp set the foundation for a full-year music instruction academy.

Despite confronting numerous challenges due to the pandemic, the Academy has shown resilience. It capitalized on the trials, morphing into an increasingly influential entity within Bowling Green’s music scene.

The Signature Rock Band Program

A unique offering of the Bowling Green Rock Band Academy, the Rock Band Program welcomes musicians at various stages of their career. “This Program offers budding musicians an exemplary platform to learn music’s real-time communication while honing their listening skills,” Jordan Weiss noted.

Qualified Instructors Ensuring Top Performance

All 20 instructors at the academy are established performers well-versed in churning out the best performances from students. “Our accomplished instructors not only mentor the students but also learn from them, whether by playing at prestigious gigs or by teaching at the university level,” Devore added.

“Our diverse set of instructors covers varied instruments, levels, and styles. We ensure that every student is paired with the right tutor,” Weiss said in praise of his team.

An Impressive End-of-Semester Showcase

The conclusion of each semester sees an exciting showcase where students demonstrate what they’ve learned. Weiss revealed that “the showcase is a large-scale event, attracting a considerable crowd with vendors, food trucks, and other exciting offerings.”

Inspiring Local Musicianship for a Stronger Community

The Bowling Green Rock Band Academy strives to shape the future generations of local music. “A thriving local music scene translates to a lively community keen to accept and celebrate the arts,” declared Devore, highlighting the Academy’s crucial role in fostering a strong community.

The academy, thus, proudly upholds its mission to stoke the musical flames of Bowling Green, fostering its commitment to nurture future generations of quality musicianship while enhancing the local appreciation for music and the arts.
