The incident has sparked a thorough investigation by the Bowling Green Police Department in collaboration with the dedicated members of the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force. During their diligent inquiry, authorities quickly identified a prime suspect: 19-year-old Brayan Torres. He is believed to have provided the drugs that led to the tragic overdose.

Police officials worked quickly to gather crucial evidence. They conducted an undercover operation at Torres’ home on Butler Way, where they spotted him in suspicious activity. Shortly after, a second individual, Reath Khan, who is 23 years old, was seen arriving to meet up with Torres. Both men were taken into custody by the police.

A Search Yields Disturbing Findings

As the officers searched the two men, they stumbled upon some alarming discoveries. They found illegal drugs in both men’s belongings, and what’s more troubling, a firearm was located in Khan’s possession. The investigation didn’t stop there, as authorities traced further leads that directed them to a nearby hotel on Mel Browning Street.

Within the hotel room, the police apprehended 28-year-old Mut Khan, who had active warrants against him at the time of his arrest. A search warrant was executed at the hotel, unveiling a frightening cache of drugs, including fentanyl, marijuana, and cocaine, as well as a significant amount of cash. It was a shocking scene that raised many eyebrows in the community.

Charges Filed Against Suspects

Currently, all three men involved in this tragic case—Brayan Torres, Reath Khan, and Mut Khan—are being held at the Warren County Regional Jail. Each one faces a serious array of charges, particularly related to the connection with Martinez’s overdose.

Brayan Torres is up against severe accusations, including reckless homicide, trafficking in a controlled substance (specifically fentanyl), and engaging in organized crime. Reath Khan, meanwhile, is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl) with enhancements, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and engaging in organized crime. Lastly, Mut Khan is facing charges of trafficking in a controlled substance (again, fentanyl), possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as intimidating a participant in the legal process, alongside the organized crime charge.
