In an electrifying match against the Toledo Rockets, the WKU football team turned a shaky start into a stunning comeback, thanks in part to their very own native son, Caden Veltkamp. As he donned the quarterback’s jersey for his first start, he certainly made it a memorable one.

Both teams faced a tough start with neither able to put points on the board in the first quarter. The Hilltoppers received the opening kickoff and were making strides down the field when Veltkamp made an ambitious throw that ended in double coverage—his first interception of the game. Toledo managed to score first after a 10-play drive that concluded with their quarterback, Tucker Gleason, sneaking it in from the one-yard line.
