Bowling Green, KY – The community of Bowling Green is mourning the loss of Jennie Rose Kincheloe Waller, a beloved local resident who passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the age of 92. Jennie was known for her warm spirit and dedication to her family and church, leaving behind a rich legacy in the hearts of many.
Jennie was born in Warren County, where she spent her childhood as the daughter of the late Paul and Beatrice Bolton Kincheloe. Growing up in a close-knit family, she developed strong values centered around love and support. She went on to marry Herbert Eugene Waller, with whom she built a family and shared many cherished memories.
In her lifetime, Jennie faced the sorrow of losing not only her husband but also her son-in-law, Richard Dale Sneed, and daughter-in-law, Meredith Waller. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul and Bill Kincheloe, who were important figures in her life. Despite these losses, Jennie remained a pillar of strength for her loved ones, always ready with a kind word or a listening ear.
Jennie dedicated her life to being a homemaker, ensuring her family’s needs were met while also fostering a sense of community. A long-time member of the Oakland Baptist Church, she actively participated in church activities, building friendships and connections over the years. Her faith motivated her to contribute to her community, embodying the spirit of generosity and kindness that so many admired.
Jennie is survived by her two daughters, Rosalee Waller Sneed and Belinda Waller Higginbotham (Craig), along with her two sons, Ken Waller (Gail) and Alan Waller (Gail). Her family also includes five grandchildren: Richard Lee Sneed (Jennifer), Michael Waller (Stacy), Shelby Sturm (Corey), Carissa Sexton (Dillon), and Sam Higginbotham (Meagan). Jennie was also proud to have one great granddaughter, Arabella Sturm, who brightened her later years. The loss of their matriarch has left a profound impact on the family, but they are grateful for the many memories they shared with her.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Smiths Grove Cemetery. Friends, family, and community members are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Jennie’s life during the service. The arrangements are being handled by Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel, ensuring her final farewell is a fitting tribute to the life she led.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Oakland Baptist Church or the Smiths Grove Cemetery. This is a way for those wishing to honor Jennie’s memory to continue her legacy of service and kindness, something she valued deeply throughout her life.
