Bowling Green, KY Says Goodbye to a Beloved Community Member
In a heartfelt moment for the community, Linda S. Bryant Ramsey, a long-time resident of Bowling Green, KY, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that many will remember.
Early Life and Education
Linda was born on January 11, 1940, to Ray and Zoie Moore Bryant. She was a bright student, graduating from high school at the young age of 16. Her thirst for knowledge led her to attend college, setting a solid foundation for her future. But it was her love story that truly defined her life. Shortly after her college days, Linda married her sweetheart, Booker “Buddy” Ramsey.
A Journey Across the Globe
Buddy’s career in the Air Force took the couple on an incredible journey around the globe, with their adventure lasting nearly 21 years. They shared many experiences, filled with contrasting cultures and the warmth of friendships forged in foreign lands. Despite the challenges of moving frequently, Linda’s positive spirit and engaging personality helped her adapt to every new setting with grace.
Returning Home to Bowling Green
Eventually, the couple settled back in Bowling Green, where they continued to make lasting memories. Linda became an active member of Hillvue Heights and Mt. Olivet Church. Her robust Christian faith was evident in her daily actions, and she consistently practiced qualities such as forgiveness, grace, and unconditional love. Linda was more than just a congregant; she was a beacon of light for many who sought comfort in her joyful presence.
A Heart of Gold
Linda’s warmth and kindness knew no bounds. Whether it was comforting a struggling friend or brightening the day of a passing stranger, she had a gift for making those around her feel valued and cherished. Her passing leaves a void not just in the hearts of her family, but in the entire community that had the joy of knowing her.
A Loving Family
Tragically, Linda had to endure the loss of several loved ones before her own passing. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, parents, two brothers – Joe and Ray – and her son, Steven. However, Linda’s spirit lives on through her surviving family, including her loving daughter Vicki Ramsey of Bowling Green, and Karen Goodman of Franklin, TN. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren – DeAnna Hewitt, Mitchell Ramsey, and Michael Ramsey – along with her great-grandchildren, Zoie Hewitt, Willow Ramsey, Maggie Ramsey, and Hanah Beech. These individuals carry her legacy forward, ensuring her values and teachings continue to thrive for generations.
Final Farewell
The community is invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, culminating in a final resting place at the Bowling Green Gardens. Linda’s family and friends encourage all those who knew her to join in celebrating a life so well-lived.
As Bowling Green bids farewell to a remarkable woman, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
